haunted

so last night ringo and I went to a reading of Chuck Palahniuk and heard from his new book "Haunted". it was pretty interesting. this time last year i had never even heard of him. of course i know of the movie FIGHT CLUB, but i had no idea that it came way after a book of the same name. a few of his books occupied our bookshelves, but ringo was the only one who read them. finally, one night i had ran out of things to read and ringo suggested that i read survivor and i couldn't put it down! it was excellent, and i was hungry for more. so over the next few days i hastily read through the rest of his novels.
needless to say, when we heard that Chuck Palahniuk was going to read from his new novel, it didn't even have to be said that we were going. it wasn't as packed as i thought it would be, but i was quite surprised to find myself to be the only black person in the entire theater! i'd like to think that that's because this event wasn't publicized..but it WAS strange.
anyhoo, ringo decided to surprise me tonight, and said that i had to dress up. so we got all dazzled up, and as SOON as we stepped out the front door it started pouring rain!!! come to find out he was taking me to the space needle for dinner. we never made it, it was raining so damn hard. it was a sweet thought, but we're going to try again tomorrow night.
